What a brilliant night! I haven't laughed so much during a single night for many years.

Things I discovered about John Barrowman

1. He's got the most magnificent voice I have ever heard.

Listening to it live is much different from recorded versions, even those recorded live. It was mindblowing in the hall when he sang. I was very much attached to the song "I made it through the rain." It literally made me cry.

2. He's abnormally energetic.

Through out the night, he was either jumping around, spinning around or shaking his butt. Better yet, his singing was not at all affected by his movement! I was so amazed how much adrenaline he could produce. Compared to him, his much younger guest Daniel Boys was out of breath just after one song.

3. He loves shining sparkling stuffs.

His suit, shoes were shining; His belt clamp was extraordinary large pinky shining; His shirt was cufflinked, and his suit was triple cufflinked! I can tell you he's obsessed. Sometimes I think he's better off to protrait Ianto's image.

4. Daniel Boys said, "John is very good at ironing."

5. BBC's gonna have a new show with John Barrowman.

It is estimated the show's gonna be very bold, as the BBC asked John to write down a list of things he's gonna do before he dies. Thank god they finally realize TNN is not right!

6. Sometimes he says the most inspiring sentence I've ever heard.

"Believe in having dreams, in following those dreams whenever you can, and when you can't, hold on to them even tighter because you never know what opportunities are round the next corner."

I love this one. It's a bit opportunism, isn't it? But if you don't hold on to them, and when the opportunity comes and you're not ready, it probably will make you hate yourself for the rest of your life.

"I am convinced that your reach should exceed your grasp; otherwise you'd never stretch for anything, but I also think there are times when you should grab what you can."

7. He is much more goodlooking than he appeared in pictures.

After the concert, we went to the stage door to meet him in person. Being nice and approachable as we expected, he's also much more charming than his figure in photos. But this does not apply to his partner.

8. Every member of his band was hotter than him!

The keyboard guy was extremely talented. His work was strong and clear, which to me were the most important aspects of piano/keyboard.

Highlights of the concert

I don't know whether there is a hightlight because every song by him was a thriller. The best song for me was "I made it through the rain", but the last song, "I am what I am" earned everyone's standing salution and endless applause.

Another highlight is when John's parents came on stage. They all danced along. In the end, to everybody's amusement, John's father was shaking his butt, in hope to prove John's love of shaking butt is from his heritage. Orz~....

A lot of jokes were told, even about the MP expenses. The funniest moment to me was when he showed the photo of his current three dogs. All of the dogs were in some funny costumes. He said, CJ was the gay dog. It was so excited to try those costumes and can't wait to show them off. Lewis was the annoyed striaght dog, can't wait to get rid of those funny outfits. Harris, the newest one, was usally very scared and would give the innocent look, seemed to say "what kind of household was I brought to?"

About Daniel Boys

I'm a bit disppointed by his performance. And this demonstrates why there's a difference in popularity of him and that of JB. His voice was overtaken by the live music a few times.
